January around Lake Norman gave us a little bit of everything: music, mesmerizing visuals, art exhibits, and even a touch of winter magic!
New Year's Day Barefoot Tournament (Sherrills Ford):
We kicked off the new year watching some seriously talented skiers take to the water--barefoot. It was the perfect mix of skill and adrenaline, and it reminded us why we love this vibrant lake community!
Mesmerica 360 by James Wood at Discovery Place Science:
This immersive visual and music experience was both calming and awe-inspiring. A great way to unwind enjoying the artsy side of Charlotte.
A rock concert like no other! The energy was electric and the crowd was loving it! We're always impressed by how much talent and entertainment can be found in our smaller surrounding towns.
Two January Snowfalls (Lake Norman area):
Snow in the South is rare enough to feel special, even if it only lasts a few hours. We had just enough time to admire the dusting before it disappeared, leaving us with some beautiful views and a reminder how peaceful winter can be here.
The 12th Annual Winter Juried Exhibition at Mooresville Arts (located in Downtown Mooresville):
Out of 111 entries, only 42 pieces were selected to be on display and Dana Pape had two pieces featured! "Berry Bliss" earned Juror's Choice and "Glow of a New Beginning" are both on display through Feb 27th.
Whether it's the energy of live music or the tranquility of a snowy lake, this area never disappoints. What were your favorite moments of January 2025?
