The Real Papes, Behind The Scenes.
Chris and Dana Pape are licensed real estate brokers in North Carolina who own Papemore Real Estate, which is currently affiliated with Coldwell Banker Realty in Mooresville. They LOVE living the “lake life” and are well-versed in the many intricacies associated with buying and selling properties on Lake Norman.
As waterfront residents themselves, their primary area of focus is on the lakefront properties and towns surrounding Lake Norman, but they’ve also managed several transactions throughout the entire Charlotte region. They hold special designations as Military Relocation Professionals (MRP), Guild Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialists, Seniors Real Estate Specialists (SRES), and they are very familiar with the VA Loan process.
Get to know Chris & Dana Pape. The people behind the real estate agent persona and the duo that are - for real - invested in their community, their clients, and their absolute love of Lake Norman.
Meet Dana Pape, the Major, the Patriot, and Pretty Much an Inspiration for all Women!
Dana served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years in both the enlisted and officer ranks. She was the first woman in her unit to earn ‘jump wings’ and complete both water survival and combat survival schools. As an Aerospace Physiologist she instructed over 6,000 pilots on the physiological effects of flight on the human body by training them in the altitude chamber and the only human centrifuge (at that time) used for aircrew training. Making the industry leap from a successful military leader to real estate professional has been a seamless transition as she thrives on operating in a dynamic, detail-oriented environment.
Dana balances her love of real estate with exploring the surrounding area’s wide variety of restaurants and festivals. Her deeply rooted appreciation for our nation’s military led her to create “LKN Vets & Patriots,” a primarily online resource for local military veterans and their families. With this initiative, Dana’s goal is to connect and bring recognition to those veterans residing in the Lake Norman area, as well as to those that support them. She also proudly serves as a Board Member for the local non-profit organization, Welcome Home Veterans at Richard’s Coffee Shop in Mooresville.
When Dana isn’t working on real estate or within the Lake Norman military community, you can find her creating works of art through oil painting, or enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset over Lake Norman with Chris. Her only downfall is her persistent need to show you her rock n' roll sign. Just deal with it.
Meet Chris Pape, the Innovator, the Producer, and the Most "Macho" Spouse Ever.
Chris’s professional life began as a multi-award-winning video producer whose work him around the world creating video projects for many audiences. Marrying Dana in 2004 also meant marrying into the military lifestyle, a challenge for anyone looking to maintain a steady, active career. Not one to shy away from a test, Chris quickly adapted to his new surroundings and eagerly embraced the many obstacles life as a military spouse creates.
After working withing the system to gain a better understanding of the military family model, he quickly realized that the predominant military spouse population, and hence resources created for that population, were primarily female oriented. So, Chris decided to bring a male perspective into the mix. He paused his career in video production and created, “Macho Spouse,” an online resource and informational hub for male military spouses. Chris was recognized in both 2014 and 2015 as the Air Force Spouse of the Year for his significant contribution to military families and veterans.
As a military spouse, his exposure to frequent cross-country moves sparked his interest in the real estate industry. Taking notes along the way, Chris gleaned the traits of outstanding REALTORS® and learned first-hand how important a steady stream of communication between agent and client was to the success of every deal. During his down time, Chris enjoys playing handball at the downtown YMCA and spending time with Dana on the lake or sampling some of the many beers our local breweries provide.
Norman, aptly named after the large body of water that brought Chris and Dana to North Carolina, is a Lab-mix rescue puppy from Lancaster Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LSPCA). Like his mommy and daddy, Norman enjoys swimming in the lake and chasing the neighborhood squirrels (well, the swimming part… Dana and Chris do not chase the neighborhood squirrels - at least most of the time).
