Welcome To The Northeast Corner!
If you’re looking at a map, the northeast corner of Lake Norman begins just north of Davidson and is part of Iredell County and the town of Mooresville, or "Race City USA." Troutman and Statesville are also in Iredell County and have mailing addresses that touch Lake Norman, but Mooresville is the biggest part of this quadrant. Just like Davidson, Cornelius, and Huntersville, Mooresville is another major business hub that touches the water and offers all types of dining options, bars, theaters, parks, medical facilities, and corporate headquarters.
Iredell County - Like "Eye"-R-Dell.  DO NOT Say "Ear"-A-Dell .  We Have Warned You.

Probably the most well-known corporation headquartered in Mooresville is Lowe’s, which is located on Langtree Road. But it’s not just about home improvement in Mooresville because the town is also known as “Race City USA” for all the NASCAR teams headquartered here (if you’re not a racing fan yet, you will be soon enough). The parts of Mooresville that touch Lake Norman are located to the west of I-77 and include dozens of wonderful communities featuring good-sized lots, mature trees and landscaping, rolling hills, and proximity to shopping, dining, and medical facilities.

Mooresville offers the best of both worlds! Just west of I-77 you'll find an abundance of waterside communities with a "beachy/coastal feel," balanced by a thriving downtown and a more "suburban, Midwest lake town feel" east of I-77. One of the most well-known communities in this area is referred to as “The Point,” a gorgeous luxury housing development located on the Brawley School Road peninsula and also home to the Trump National Golf Club (a private golf and social club).

Mooresville’s Downtown is rapidly becoming a thriving, very desirable location with newer multi-million-dollar developments including a new fire rescue center, police department, library and several parks. We really enjoy the “upscale old-timey” look of Downtown Mooresville and it’s been fun watching it grow and modernize over the years. Don’t be fooled by the sleepy southern town look, these historic buildings host some really cool local businesses and restaurants! Mooresville’s Main Street is also home to Richard’s Coffee Shop, a patriotic hub featuring coffee, breakfast and lunch, a military museum, and gift shop. This iconic gathering spot is widely recognized throughout North Carolina and the United States and is home to the non-profit organization, Welcome Home Veterans.

The NE corner’s property taxes are the 2nd highest around Lake Norman. They’re currently less than Mecklenburg, but higher than Lincoln and Catawba Counties.

Queens Landing

Looking for something to do? There are several public boat launches, museums, parks, on-water dining options, and the Lake Norman State Park--a popular destination to hike, camp, fish, and more! The park also boasts a large sandy beach and some of the best mountain bike trails in the area. At the end of the day, enjoy a Lake Norman dinner cruise and sightseeing aboard one of the tour boats operated by Queens Landing.
